XXII Compasso d'Oro award
ORT received the Honorable Mention XXII Compasso d'Oro award
ADI Compasso d'Oro Award is the oldest and most influential ibetrnational design award bestowed in recognition of the best Italian Industrial Design. Aris by a Gio Ponti's idea in 1954, the Compasso d'Oro Award has been managed by the ADI (Foundation for Italian Design) since 1962 thus ensuring its impartiality and integrity. With a step that has no precedent anywhere else in the world of international design, the Cultural Heritage Ministry, Regional Office for Lombardy, with a Decree dated 22 april 2004, declared Historical Collection of Compasso d'Oro Award to be "of exceptional artistic and historical interest" and included it in italy's national heritage.
The Compasso d'Oro is awarded on the basis of a pre-selection made by ADI Permanent Observatory of Design over the last three yearsand published in the Design Index. On 12 July 2011 at MACRO in Rome, among the pre-selected projects, 19 products have been awarded the XXII Compasso d'Oro and 77 have received the Honorable Mention.
